sillies

The plan was a late afternoon quick shoot at our neighborhood park.  All I wanted was a great shot of the kids with the puppy then some individual shots of the kids.  Easy, right?  No.  Nothing is easy with an 8 month-old puppy and kids who don't share mom's enthusiasm for family photos.  So, after the dog wouldn't sit still, then slipped out of her collar and got loose in the park, we ditched the serious shoot for some silly fun.  Needless to say when we do it again we'll bring the puppy wrangler (aka dad) for a little help!

happy

What better way to spend your Thanksgiving break than taking family pictures, right?  This very fun and photogenic family was happy to spend their afternoon in a beautiful park creating great family memories.  Thanks for the fun, hope you enjoy your sneak peeks!

precious

These precious children were so much fun and I loved their sweet interactions.  We had a great time looking for animals and exploring and ended our time with a fun leaf fight!  Thanks, Alycia, enjoy your sneak peeks.

love

What a very beautiful and happy new family.  There was rain outside (which is good luck on your wedding day), but inside, there was abundant love and joyfulness throughout the church.  I am so happy these two found one another and thrilled that I could capture their love on this special day.  Best wishes to you all!

so sweet

Look how darling and sweet this young lady is, and she's so photogenic, too.  This gorgeous park is right outside their door - a gazebo, lake and beautiful fall trees, what a perfect setting for a shoot!  Her sweet brother is a Marine stationed overseas and missed this one; but if he gets that leave the family is hoping for, we'll have a family session soon.  Enjoy these sneak peeks and hope those ant bites are all better!

wind?

What a great, fun family. I've been photographing lots of little kids lately so it was a fun change to work with teenagers (and even in the morning they were happy and awake).  We spent a lovely, windy fall morning at this family's beautiful home and dad even pulled out the gorgeous corvette to photograph.  Enjoy your sneak peeks, can't wait for you to see them all!

sassy

One of my favorite families ever and for the first time, mom and dad joined in on the fun!  Look at this precious girl, dressed in her zebra print with sparkles, ruffles and killer boots; and yes, she knew she had it going on.  What a wonderful time we had and also got some great shots.  Enjoy the sneak peeks and yes, there are many more!

sparkle

These are some of the very first kids that I photographed professionally and they are also close friends; a session with them is almost like photographing my own crazy kids!  On a very hectic Saturday, they were able to spend a little time with me exploring and having fun.  Love the sparkle, C, and I always enjoy laughing with you guys, thanks for a great time!

girl power

I adore the sibling dynamic of a little girl with two big brothers (I happen to have a little personal experience with this one.)  This beautiful little 3 year old curly-girl is a mighty powerful force, and we had a tons of fun moving at rocket speed from spot to another.  Thanks for sharing your family with me again, Lori, it was a blast!

brothers

Look at these precious boys.  They are so close in age and they are great friends already (and probably also good wrestling buddies).  What a special bond brothers have, I just loved their interactions!  Great to get to know you guys, enjoy your sneak peek.

cool

I found a cool new location this year and had such a great time exploring all the great photo opportunities with this awesome family.  Sweet Diane was my boys' preschool teacher many years ago and it was great to reconnect and get to know her precious family.  Enjoy the sneak peeks!

an adventure

It was a pleasure to work with this gorgeous family again for an afternoon in the park.  The outfits were perfect, the kids were thrilled to be there (right??) and it was a beautiful fall day.  They even followed me to a hidden spot that I've been anxious to photograph; what troopers!  Thanks for a great afternoon and enjoy your sneak peeks.

star senior

This is a high school senior full of integrity and character.  He is a captain of the football team (which is a fantastic team), Student Congress President and ranked in the top 5% of his class of over 1,000 students!  His parents are college friends of mine and it is pretty awesome to see what a great young man they raised.  You are certain to do anything that you set your mind to do, Blake, I wish you all the best.

These are just a few of my favorites, many more great ones to show you!

mama's boys

I've known this precious family about 5 years now and they are so kind, loving and sweet.  We had a gorgeous cool morning and I was thrilled to see water coming over the waterfall again at this picturesque park.  I always love when the family pet is included in family pictures and Gracie was the perfect pooch.  Thanks, Michelle, it's always great to see you and your family!

lots of love

It was a glorious morning and the Arboretum was the perfect setting for this precious little pumpkin (funny, I know.)  JW was a trooper and even enjoyed his first time playing in the dirt.  He is a happy, adorable and very loved little boy.  Next year he'll be running all over everywhere but today he was perfectly content hanging out with the pumpkins.  Thank you, D, he is a perfect little blessing!

what rain?

North Texas enjoyed a glorious afternoon of rain yesterday.  And thankfully, this fabulous family braved the showers to meet me at the park.  Between drops, we took advantage of the amazing light and captured some great shots of these siblings.  Can you tell we had some fun?  Thanks for making my job so great!

first fall family

I recently enjoyed a gorgeous fall morning with crisp, cool air with this beautiful family!  Joining me at one my favorites spots, the kids had a great time enjoying the scarecrows, gourds and pumpkins and we even saw a cat and baby goats.  What an awesome family; I enjoyed getting to know each of you.  A special thanks goes to Mimi for providing the baby wrangling, reflector holding and dancing; happy fall!

happy days

I met this stunning young lady almost 18 years ago, on one her first days of life.  Her father is one of my husband's oldest and dearest friends.  She is smart, sweet, gorgeous and has an incredible zest for life.  We barely stopped laughing (or talking) long enough to get these images but I think we captured her beautiful spirit.

Thank you, Hannah, for a wonderful afternoon with your fabulous self and your family.  I cannot wait to see what lucky college gets to have you, and what life has in store for you; it's sure to be an amazing adventure. These are just a few of my favorites, I can't wait for you to see them all!

holiday mini-sessions

The details of the new Holiday mini-sessions can be found here.  My current clients received this information last week and there has been a great response so far.  The locations are amazing; two are tried and true and two are new for me.

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano is picturesque with trails and trees and lots of green (green enough) grass.  The Cotton Mill in McKinney is a photographer's paradise with natural light, gorgeous doors, fountains, stairs and cool, quirky details.  No rain delays for this one (we can only hope it might rain again someday) as there are plenty of inside options.  Chestnut Square in McKinney is a location that I have used many times and it's a perfect blend of old and new.  There are textures and colors, along with large wooden doors, stairs and a pretty chapel courtyard.  Downtown McKinney has an urban flair with park benches, the old jail with a cool patio and multiple great brick backgrounds.  There's even a fun little green park down an alley.

Choose the day and location that works for you and email me now to save your spot.

the power of two

On what we hope was the last of our very warm TX mornings, this beautiful family joined me for some fun.  We explored the park, found water, jumped from rocks and even discovered a longhorn (statue), an alligator (not real) and a baby bunny (real)!  Oh what fun it is to be two and full of life; and thank goodness for happy baby brothers who tag along with a smile.  Thanks, N family, for a great morning. Happy Labor Day and enjoy your sneak peeks.

surprise, surprise

This beautiful family gathered for a family portrait to celebrate their mom's 80th birthday.  Baby sister even flew in from Atlanta for the occasion.  What great joy to see the delight and surprise in her eyes as mom realized the surprise.  Later that evening another surprise was in store when 60+ people (cousins, grandkids, neices, nephews, etc.) gathered for a surprise birthday party for her!  Thanks for the fun morning and may your mom enjoy many, many more years.

greatest joy

My beautiful children are my greatest joy.  They are intelligent, funny, quirky, silly, crazy and awesome.  (And yes, there are times that they make me want to pull out my hair - or theirs!)  The boys will be in 4th grade and my baby girl will be in 3rd this year.  Truly, the time is going by too quickly and I would often like to turn back the clock.  I am so proud of the young men and young lady that I see emerging from these not-so-little ones.

greatest grands

What a very special family!  I adore this group of people and am enamored by the bond they have with each other.  My connection to this family began 10 years ago; Julie (cute redhead mom) and I were brand new (twin) moms together and spent many hours walking the mall and picnicing at the Arboretum.  This session is in honor of her parents' 50th anniversary.  Congratulations, Judy and John and enjoy the sneak peek, there are many more!

beach sunset

What a delightfully fun family!  We were treated to a gorgeous evening with a cool breeze and a stunning sunset and everyone was on their very best behavior (even Nick!)  I loved getting to know each one of you and hope that our paths cross again in Indian Pass soon.  Enjoy the sneak peeks!

my girl

My little girl will soon be 8.  Sometimes she acts more like a teenager than a little girl but she's got lots of gusto (a word we discussed at breakfast this morning) and plenty of pure joy for life.  I love the new haircut and although she can be quite spirited, I adore and admire the beautiful young lady she is becoming.

three years old

Funny, sweet and mighty precocious is this beautiful three year old girl, Ella.  She loves swimming, soccer shoes and playing basketball - but not bows!  She knows what she wants and with that precious smile and sparkling eyes, it's hard to deny her.  Thank you A&E for a fun adventure this morning.  Happy 3rd Birthday, Ella!

brand new

Meet Claire.  At 8 days old, she's the newest member to this beautiful family.  They were wonderfully surprised that she was a girl and she was gladly welcomed by all.  I enjoyed spending the afternoon with all of you, hope you enjoy these few sneak peeks!

a graduate

This beautiful young lady braved the heat to do senior portraits with her cap and gown.  She had a smile on her face the whole time and never once complained about the heat!  S, you have a wonderful, happy and sweet spirit, you will go far in life.  I really enjoyed getting to know you and wish you well in your college journey!

Baby Elijah

Meet Eli, an absolutely perfect and beautiful baby boy (and my great nephew!)  I made a quick trip to Louisiana to meet him and take some pictures and he did awesome at just 12 days old.  Thanks for sharing him with me and I can't wait to see you all again in a few weeks!

This beautiful young lady was just pronounced valedictorian of Lovejoy High School, class of 2011.  What a huge accomplishment and I am just one of the many people who are so proud of her.  Great job, Nisha, I look forward to following your fantastic journey to college and beyond!

great girl time | LHS 2011 senior photographer

These girls were a blast!  What a great time we had playing in the street and climbing the walls.  For just a moment, it made me miss being 18... You girls rock!  Each of you shines from the inside out with your unique talent, beautiful smiles, brains and personalities.  Most of you are going your separate ways for college but may you forever remain the best of friends.

twins | LHS 2011 senior photographer

What awesome kids.  It was great to see the strong bond that these two have with one another.  They are the best of friends and they truly like one another.  They will even head off to Iowa for college together.  I really enjoyed hearing about their plans for rush and their dreams for the future.  Alex - I may have to revisit P90X after your results!  Best of luck to you both.

collin

This McKinney High School senior is no ordinary boy - he's a baseball giant and he also happens to be my nephew.  I was there the day he was born and I am so proud of the young man he has become.  Collin, you will go far and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for you.

beauty and brains

This high school senior was such a joy to work with and get to know.  She is beautiful and has brains and talent, too.  College is going to be such a great experience (and you will love Austin), and I can't wait to see what follows.  Best of luck to you, Nisha!
